Part 3: Retest of labs
4 Months into 9: Notable Improvements
I'm thrilled to share that this is my second blood lab!

The first labs asked for help in a lot of directions at once — lipids, vitamin D, thyroid, inflammation, protein, heart, B vitamins, calcium, viral markers, antioxidants. It was a checklist of what was off, so we would know where to start. Not a verdict. A map.
Food is the expensive part. I went keto, then a high-protein plan. That is easier to preach than to pay for. When my husband was working, vendors handed him meat to try. That is not my kitchen now. My coach suggested a few higher-protein snacks. PaleoValley was one. I like the original flavors. I also increased my B, D, and fish oil and stayed with the food-based brands I already trust.
After three months, we drew labs again.
Some of it was good, and I needed to hear good. Calcium moved into range. Thyroid markers improved. Protein looked better — I was eating more of it, and absorbing more of it. Inflammation came down. Ferritin dropped a lot. They read that as less inflammation, though it is still high. Vitamin D and B12 improved, and they are still not where they need to be. I take plenty of D (complex) and B (Stress). My gut is still not grabbing what I swallow. That can be dysbiosis — the neighborhood in the intestine carrying bugs that do not belong in charge.
Some of it was hard to read. Cholesterol went the wrong way. Homocysteine ticked up. There are still signs of a viral or gut infection. So last week we added a stool test. Results take about a month. I will tell you when I know.
Ferritin is still high enough that I put the iron pans away. Giving blood helped a little. This is the unglamorous part: cook at home, eat out less, do the next small thing.
I am writing this so you can sit next to me at the table, not so a number can preach. I am an ordinary person reading labs with a practitioner and a coach who will actually stay in the conversation. The numbers are not the whole story. I want a body that can mend with food, rest, and people who know what they are doing — and who respect what I have already learned.
Food is one part of how God made the body to be fed and healed. A good practitioner beside you can support and help. Food, exercise and doing things I love help with worry and stress- (we are all human). I'm someone that loves to help others, I am learning to stay in my own lane while going where the Father sends me.
The labs told me I am steadily improving, with more to work on. Tiredness is better. Not gone. I am still the client. I still wander toward being a worry wort. I still have five months on the calendar, and I am very encouraged.
What I am waiting on is the stool test. I am not surprised the gut is in the middle. If I am not absorbing B and D, another bottle is not the whole answer.
I am still in the middle of getting well.
Part 4 lands on September 17, 2026.
