PerfectAmino is a dietary supplement of essential amino acids in a precise ratio, utilized up to 99% to help build new protein, muscle, and collagen — without the caloric impact of typical protein, and without breaking a fast.
It is supplemented with nucleic acid building blocks to help direct the process of protein synthesis.
One scoop, or five tablets, provides 5 grams. That serving's utilization is comparable, on average, to 29 grams of whey, soy, dairy, or nuts; 15 grams of meat, poultry, or fish; and 10 grams of eggs.
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. The body uses them to build cells, tissue, nerves, hormones, and enzymes, and for thousands of other functions.
Essential amino acids cannot be made by the body, so they have to come from food or a supplement. Non-essential amino acids can be made in the body when the essential ones are available — the non-essentials are built from the essentials.
The essentials named in the PerfectAmino formula are L-leucine, L-valine, L-isoleucine, L-lysine HCl, L-phenylalanine, L-threonine, L-methionine, and L-tryptophan. A small amount of L-histidine is included as well.
The formula starts with the amino acid building blocks of protein, in the ratio used for maximum utilization.
Nucleic acid building blocks — nucleotides and nucleosides — are what DNA and RNA are made of. Those are the genetic codes that determine how amino acids are used in the body.
They are included to support the formula inside the cell, by helping direct protein synthesis rather than leaving the amino acids without that signal.
Some scientific literature treats histidine as a ninth essential amino acid. Other studies describe it as conditionally essential: the body can produce it, but not always in sufficient amounts — particularly for infants, some older adults, and people who are medically compromised.
To support a wider range of people, PerfectAmino was reformulated to include a small quantity of histidine, along with other updates. The core eight remain L-leucine, L-valine, L-isoleucine, L-lysine HCl, L-phenylalanine, L-threonine, L-methionine, and L-tryptophan.
They come from plant-based sources that are broken down and separated into free-form amino acids — pharmaceutical-grade, with no remaining plant residues or sugars.
The formula is free of yeast, gluten, soy, corn, wheat, rice, preservatives, and excipients. It is vegan, and it is produced in FDA-registered, cGMP-certified facilities.
