Mt Pleasant Rexell Drug Store, still in use and still compounding medicine. (Many pharmacies have closed down to make way for corporate entities such as Walgreens, CVS) Much of the filming of OuterBanks was done in the Mt Pleasant area.

In East Tennessee we have a rich climate zone - rain pouring down for 5-60 minutes in buckets then sunshine the rest of the day. Winter is mildly cold and all the vegetation 'goes to sleep' until springtime comes back around. We have so much diversity with plant life the weeds are actually medicine and food and you will pull weeds for days and they'll come back the very next day!

This spring and summer have been spent pulling weeds and having work done to the front of our yard. We haven't planted much in the way of plants but have prepared the soil by weeding, putting in top-soil, mulch and adding hardscaping.

When the cool of fall comes we will put in plants and shrubs, one by one and only as the budget allows. (Medicinal plants, perenials, herbs, berry's and small bushes and trees that are perfect for zone 7).

(Many of our neighbors give us plants and bulbs and we are learning to take pieces of plants and propagate for FREE. WE LIKE FREE.)

Last but not least, we are ecstatic to let you know that our youngest daughter got engaged to be married! This is the BEST news EVER for us! We are excited for her and her Beloved!
